Anxious times

We are living in the Age of Anxiety
Topics

We live in anxious times - indeed our present age is often dubbed the Age of Anxiety.

Yet God is not unaware of the worries, uncertainties and anxieties of life. In fact, in the book of Phillipians, in the Bible, the Apostle Paul writes:

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

Now this isn’t saying to the anxious, “don’t be anxious”. That's counter productive and unhelpful advice.

Instead Paul is saying to take our anxieties to God, who is with us, who is bigger than us and who cares for us. Because knowing these things is a source of rest and peace in an age of anxiety.
