Why study history?

One history lesson worth discovering today
Topics

You’ve probably heard the quote - “Those who do not learn history are doomed to repeat it.”

So many great stories are dramatic retellings of actual history. These tales should encourage people to know more about the past and what we can learn. We shouldn’t put one country or persons struggle through our own personal lens. Instead we should look to understand the history and uniqueness of the past before passing judgment on nations or people.

Interestingly, the Bible is a treasure trove of information concerning mankind’s history. No historian would discredit the validity and reliability of the Bible’s text as a resource to understand the past of these people groups and you and me.

The Old Testament provides the foundation for this historical study, and the New Testament brings forth the solution to most of the problems in Jesus to peace and salvation to the world.

One history lesson worth discovering today.
