I got some birthday cards and there was a nice package from the government.
I opened it. 'Dear Mr McAlpine Please send us some of your poo.' What??
At fifty the government’s bowel cancer screening kicks in. Every few years I get the same poo request.
The results came back - negative! This time!
Phew for the poo!
But what if I’d thought, “I’d rather not know and thrown the package away?”
We don’t take chances like that. Or we shouldn’t. That could be fatal. Better to know - and to do something about it, even if we don’t like the results If that’s true about physical life, how much more true about spiritual life.
The Bible is God’s letter to us to test our spiritual health. Test yourself against the claims of Jesus. It might be confronting, but it could just save your life.
