Are We Really at the Centre of the Universe?

The Earth is not made for us, but for someone else.

Apollo 8 astronaut, William Anders, was one of the few humans to gaze back at the Earth from space. As he looked back at the Earth from his spacecraft, he admitted that

his faith was somewhat undercut, as he looked back at a tiny Earth and wondered if that really was the centre of universe.

It must have been a remarkable experience.

And if that's what the Bible taught, then it would cause pause for thought.

But unfortunately for Anders, the Bible doesn't claim that we are the at the centre of the universe. Instead, the vastness of the universe if testament to the glory of God:

"The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands."

We are not at the centre of the universe; it's not made for us, but for the glory of God.
