Will eternal life be boring?
Some have thought that the offer of eternal life that Jesus makes in the Bible will be a real drag. What will people do for such a long time? Will everyone just get bored?
Well, some sociologists talk about the reality of something called ‘flow experiences’.
These are certain experiences which are so engaging and absorbing that you get ‘into the zone’ and you just lose track of time.
Jesus talks about life in him as having life to the full - so perhaps the heavenly life will be
something akin to this ‘flow’ experience. Where in eternity the time will just fly past!
So rather than being a dull, boring drag, we might well be glad that eternal life goes on
forever.
