In Oppenheimer the movie, one discussion point stands out: the scientist's personal struggle with 'playing god'. Robert J. Oppenheimer battled deep inner turmoil, having given the world a weapon that would go on to deliver mass destruction. The film raises many questions, but specifically the dangers of playing God.

Interestingly, the Bible teaches about the dangers of human hubris too.

The Fall in the Garden of Eden and The Tower of Babel are a few noticeable examples of mankind's inability to make themselves gods.

Every time mankind tries, it fails, since there is only one God.

And He is the one with the ultimate power to judge and destroy.

Yet, even though humanity continues to try to be God,

God's inclination is not to destroy us, but be merciful and loving.

Have you ever stopped trying to be god in your life, and surrender to the only God of the universe?
