Do you have a good imagination?
Imagination is essentially about creating something new, almost out of nothing, beyond our senses and stimuli. It’s something that drives the creation of stories, music, art, and games. But imagination is also essential for successful organisations, inventions and even relationships.
Imagination appears to be uniquely human - no animal seems to possess one.
Yet it is a potent force and actually makes humans very powerful and possibly, most god-like with the ability to create something from nothing.
Indeed, author and pastor, John Piper once said,
Imagination may be the hardest work of the human mind. And perhaps the most God-like. It is the closest we get to creation out of nothing.
But then, perhaps this makes sense, if as the Bible claims, we really are created in the image of God?
