I had the recent privilege of staying at a great hotel when travelling. One thing that always catches me by surprise, is how quickly I get used to the daily housekeeping service.
No matter how much I mess up the bed, leave rubbish around, or forget to put the hairdryer away—I always come back to a clean and tidy room day after day!
Well, this is because the hotel contractually provides this service.
This is a service that I have already paid for.
In the Bible, God promises to contractually cleanse our hearts from sin.
The price of forgiveness has been paid for through Jesus' death on the cross and Him rising back to life.
No matter how much we mess up or forget to follow God's instructions, God has promised that those who trust in Jesus Christ will be made clean (Romans 8:1). What an incredible gift and promise this is!
