We are told to live for the moment and seize the day. We live life for the now. Being so focussed on the ‘now’ can mean we badly miss out on the bigger picture. Indeed not properly preparing for the future can be a recipe for disaster. The paradoxical wisdom of Jesus is that we need the big picture to be able to truly appreciate the now.
