That’s the catch-cry of life coach guru Michael Bungay Stanier, an industry that has boomed in the wake of the pandemic.
Now don’t get me wrong – being told you’re awesome certainly helps you feel good about yourself! But when the real difficulties of life inevitably come our way will it be enough?
More than a life coach cheering us on from the sidelines, we need someone who is with us in the difficulties of life. And that is what the God of the Bible offers us. One of the most frequent things He tells those who are afraid is “I am with you”. For me that’s a bigger comfort than being told I’m doing great…especially when I’m not.
