Jesus isn’t often quoted as a political thinker but his framing of power and authority has shaped politics for centuries. On the eve of an Australian federal election we will take a look at Jesus’ famous one sentence guide to politics (Matthew 22:21). We’ll think about the way in which Jesus made accountability central to thinking about government and the way this move continues to resonate for us today. And we’ll seek to answer the question, ‘what would Jesus say to ScoMo or Albo’?
