The concept of stewardship is not new.  From a Christian worldview, it can be traced back to the beginning of humanity when God appoints Adam to be the caretaker of his creation. Stewardship is a responsible activity with purpose. This is not to say the path to being a good steward is all rosy. It comes with its share of challenges and frustration.

Join us at our EOY event as three experienced panellists share their understanding of stewardship, joys and challenges of being a good steward in their respective roles.

Alexis Cheang is Head of Investment Stewardship at TCorp, having joined the business on 1 June 2022. In her role, Alexis leads the business' commitment to integrate ESG and active ownership across all asset classes, using a total portfolio approach. Prior to joining TCorp, Alexis spent 8 years at Mercer as Partner and Head of Sustainable Investment for Asia Pacific, advising asset owners in designing and implementing sustainable investment and climate change strategies.

Raewyn has been acknowledged as a pioneer in after-tax investing and implementation efficiency in institutional investment portfolios, having cultivated a large body of research in these emerging areas. After a 28-year career spanning tax law, superannuation, investment management and business strategy, Raewyn now works as a Principal with Impact Strategists Jefferson & Shea Group and chairs the board of Churches of Christ Community Care NSW.

Head of Australian Equities at Rest Super
Chris Drew is Head of Portfolio Construction, External Equities at Rest. This involves Chris managing Rest’s $33bn Australian and International equity portfolios including setting strategy and the day-to-day management of each portfolio. Prior to joining Rest in July 2021, Chris has held senior investment roles at a number of superannuation funds including Australian Catholic Super, Sunsuper and Energy Industries Super Scheme.
